"Words can't really describe the venue of this wedding. It was an old Château, from a long ago century. The celebration began with an intimate ceremony in the middle of the garden, surrounded by beautiful trees, maybe with more that 100 years old…"
Laura & Ousmane celebrated their love at a beautiful old Château with an intimate wedding at Pays de la Loire, France.
I met Laura back in 2018, I was visiting Europe and that weekend we were in Paris.
Laura is a news reporter, my best friend introduced me to her, after a couple glasses of wine, I took some portraits of her next to the Seine river.
After some months I received a message from her saying that she was getting married and that she wanted me to go and document her wedding.
I got to Nantes, France for the wedding some days before, we planned to have a pre wedding session at Lauras childhood beach town, La Baule.
The town had this nice and calm feeling, little shops, people walking around, taking a sun bath at the beach.
Laura and Ousmane showed me around, we got to some giant cliffs next to the sea at the golden hour. It was breathless. After the stroll, Ousmane invited me to have dinner to her sister's home. We sat on cushions, waiting for the delicious meal, she cooked some fresh fish with rice, served in a large bowl with spoons around to share.
It was a typical dish from Senegal (Ousmane home country), after that trip I learned that they have habanero sauce at Senegal too, they showed me a salsa made with it. I remember everyone speaking French (I love how French sounds) and I was just listening, eating, enjoying the moment and a delicious home cocked fish.
Perfect ending for a perfect day.
Days after, the wedding day came, words can't really describe the venue of this wedding. It was an old Château, from a long ago century. The celebration began with an intimate ceremony in the middle of the garden, surrounded by beautiful trees, maybe with more that 100 years old. Every meaningful person from Laura & Ousmane's life said some emotive words for the couple.
After, champagne started to pop, cocktails at the sunset, listening to a band play while every guest were having the best time. The sun set, and the party continued inside the Château, music, lights, lots of delicious cake and drinks were present all night long.
This trip and this wedding showed lots of things, the ones I remember the most are: the two incredible cultures, African / French, diversity in music, champagne and tables of delicious cheeses cannot miss French parties and, Mexicans are not the only brave and crazy people in the world who loves chile habanero.
